Matt Hull is a trumpet player and composer from Boston, living in Brooklyn, NY. Hull is nostalgic for, and inspired by, soft radio static and novelty hand-held radios. This has lead to the creation of his current band, Radio Brass, and his latest solo effort, “Dreams of Radio Brass”. Other solo recordings include “New Recording 49” via Tower to the Sea Records and “In the Pulses”, featuring bass player Max Ridley and drummer Dor Herskovits.

Hull was a member of the indie rock/jazz outfit Really From, being the sole horn player was once referred to by Karen Muller (WBUR) as a “one-man brass band”. He regularly plays with Brooklyn-based post-hardcore/indie band Stay Inside, NYC brass band Underground Horns, his band Radio Brass, Max Ridley trio and is one half of the experimental horn duo, Lewis Lamp.

Hull maintains a busy freelance schedule performing, writing, recording and teaching in NYC.
